A long-standing industrial client required a significant upgrade to their heating system due to the deteriorating condition of their existing burner, which had become unreliable with obsolete components and a deteriorated burner head. The client’s operations demanded precise temperature control throughout the year, and their current equipment was no longer able to meet these needs efficiently. To address these challenges, we recommended and installed a 250SP-SM burner with a 600kW heat capacity. This burner featured a split manifold design with a 40/60 split configuration, providing versatile and seasonally adjustable output.

The split manifold design was particularly beneficial for this client. During the summer months, when ambient temperatures are higher, the system can operate using only 40% of the burner’s capacity. This capability improves turndown ratios and helps maintain consistent temperatures without overloading the system. In the winter months, when ambient temperatures drop significantly, the burner can be operated at full capacity, utilizing 100% of the burner’s output to ensure that adequate heat is maintained throughout the facility. This flexibility in operation provided the customer with better temperature control and allowed for more efficient energy use throughout the year.

The project involved the careful installation and commissioning of the 250SP-SM burner. The installation process was completed with minimal disruption to the client’s ongoing operations. After commissioning, the system was thoroughly tested to ensure optimal performance across all operational scenarios. The results were significant: the implementation of the 250SP-SM burner with a split manifold design greatly improved the client’s ability to manage temperature control year-round. The flexibility to switch between 40% and 100% burner capacity based on seasonal needs resulted in enhanced energy efficiency and more consistent operational temperatures.

Furthermore, by replacing the obsolete components and deteriorated burner head with a modern, high-capacity burner, the client mitigated the risk of unexpected downtime and ensured a more reliable heating system. This upgrade extended the operational life of the client’s heating system and provided them with greater control over their energy consumption. In conclusion, the installation of the 250SP-SM burner with a split manifold design was a strategic upgrade that effectively met the client’s need for improved temperature control and system reliability.
