At Comtherm we want to make sure that visitors to our website, customers and suppliers are confident that when gathering personal information, we will ensure their personal data will be protected under the General Data Protection Regulation and The Data Protection Act 2018. We are obligated to provide the following regarding the collection and processing of individuals personal information such as the name, address, e-mail address, and telephone number.

Why we may collect personal data:

When personal data is submitted via our website or any other method, we will use it to process and fulfill requests made by the data subject to Comtherm. Such as to provide quotations, orders, answering queries, deliveries, invoicing, making payments and fulfilling any other contractual agreement between the controller and data subject. On visiting our website your IP address will be stored but no other personal information, unless you wish to submit personal information in order to use our services. 

For us to fulfil our commitments to you, it may be necessary for us to employ external companies such as contractors for site work or couriers. In such cases personal information may be provided to them so they can complete their work only, and not to be processed by them for any other reason.

Our lawful basis to collect and process your personal data is ‘Legitimate interests’ in order to carry out our business obligations. If the processing of personal data is necessary and there is no legal statutory basis for such processing, we will inform you first of the purpose and of any other relevant information.

Comtherm takes measures to ensure protection of personal data processed through this website. Cookies

The website pages of Comtherm uses cookies. Cookies are text files that are stored in a computer system via an Internet browser, they allow for a specific internet browser to be identified. It is necessary for our website to use cookies in order for our purchasing process to function and tracking cookies may also be used to allow Comtherm greater understanding of our customers’ requirements and how we may best provide our services. Creating a cookie on the data subject’s computer does not give our website access to other information such as your payment card number or e-mail address.

Marketing Emails   

We may send to you marketing e-mails containing information or products we think you may be interested in. Marketing e-mails may contain tracking pixels. A tracking pixel is a miniature graphic embedded in such e-mails, to enable log file recording and analysis. This allows a statistical analysis of the success or failure of online marketing campaigns. Based on the embedded tracking pixel and unique links used by the emails, Comtherm may see if and when an e-mail was opened by a data subject, and which links in the e-mail were called up by data subjects.

Personal data collected in the tracking pixels contained in Marketing e-mails, are stored and analysed by the controller so we can make sure the e-mails being sent to the data subject are better focused to the interests of the data subject. This personal data will not be passed on to third parties (unless specified for the individual campaign and agreed with by the data subject). 

 

Contact possibility via the website

The website of Comtherm contains information that enables a quick electronic contact to our business, as well as direct communication with us. If a data subject contacts the controller by e-mail or via a contact form, the personal data transmitted by the data subject are automatically stored. Such personal data transmitted on a voluntary basis by a data subject to the data controller are stored for the purpose of processing or contacting the data subject. Submitting this information, you consent to the use of the information in accordance with this Privacy Policy as amended from time to time. 

Rights of the data subject

Under the General Data Protection Regulation and The data Protection Act 2018 you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioners Office (ICO) if you believe there is a problem with the way that we are handling your data. At any time you have the right to access the data that we hold, to rectify or erase data, restrict or object to processing. However we may be unable to fulfil our obligations if you do not provide this data in which case we would inform you regarding the implications.Furthermore, the data subject shall have a right to obtain information as to whether personal data are transferred to a third country or to an international organisation. Where this is the case, the data subject shall have the right to be informed of the appropriate safeguards relating to the transfer.

Period for which the personal data will be stored

We will not keep your personal data for any longer than is necessary given the reason(s) for which it was first collected. If there is legitimate reason for information to be retained, the criteria used to determine the period of storage of personal data is the respective statutory retention period. After expiration of that period, the corresponding will be deleted, as long as it is no longer necessary for the fulfilment of the contract or the initiation of a contract.
